Hello, I purchased my RaspberryJAMMA between late 2017 and early 2018 (don't remember exactly) and I have the same problem with Dragon's Lair (no announcer vocal track).

Which device should I buy to fix the problem?

I tried Double Dragon in advmame (with the .106 rom): resolution is good, even if the game is a little slow.

Then, i tried to play it in FBA (0.2.97.40 rom) and the resolution is like in MAME78 (see below).

If you're interested in, "tshingen" rom is twice on the list (i'm using "1670allGames").

You're right, my monitor is mounted horizontally and i want horizontal setup. But... I forgot to tell you the reason why i was trying to change orientation. Double Dragon on MAME078 appears like this (see below) with horizontal setup: image does not fit the monitor as it does with vertical setup, is...

I have the same problem, but i'm not able to resolve it with Arpicade 3.82 as you did (cannot find mame078_libretro_224.cfg in /home/pi/.config/retroarch).
