I think the high score support is done through the built in LUA scripting in 181. I'll have a look into it tomorrow but I don't think you need to patch it in, that said I'm not sure how it actually works... I haven't used 181 a lot due to the video output being handled differently to the other emula...

You should be fine without the stats files, unless I'm mistaken they just keep track of how many times you've launched particular games. They should regenerate.

The FAT partition will have been formatted in linux originally, I'm not sure why (and it doesn't always happen) but sometimes FAT32 partitions made in GParted on Linux are unreadable in Windows. Just imaging the card will get you going but the space will be limited to the size of the image. To get the most out of your 32 gig SD card you will also want to resize the fat32 partition after moving the other partition to the end of the card.
