Next update progress update. I was making progress, Guncon2 support, slightly improved performance, a few more games supported, config improvements. Still planning some code cleanups and adding highres support and maybe PSP too but then...

I've now discovered the kernel changes for Guncon2 support have broken DonutDodo, for some reason that isn't entirely clear. As far as I can tell nothing else broke. No idea why DD broke (the only output is segfault), in trying to figure it out I installed the Godot Engine runner and it seems like Godot works - unfortunately being a binary I can't open DonutDodo directly through Godot Engine to investigate it that way.

This is very likely something I've done... to get the Guncon2 kernel module to install involved some unusual methods and I must have broken something unknown in the process. Then again, technically the DD release only supports up to Pi4 so maybe it was lucky it worked at all on Pi5. It's also a 'RetroPie' release rather than an RPi release so I don't know if there's some bits that are important we don't have. Both RetroPie and ARpiCADE are based on RaspiOS but there's a lot of differences beyond that (contrary to some opinions I've read ARpiCADE is not based on RetroPie, or a modded version of RetroPie - and never has been).

So... rather than trying to blend everything together into one build. I could do a Guncon2 release, intended for playing gun games on it's own SD card and a JAMMA joystick release not supporting Guncon but DonutDodo could still work.
OR... I could drop support for DonutDodo (hopefully not permanently) and have Guncon2 support in the regular build in the next release.

If you have an opinion on this subject please chime in. One build to rule them all would be ideal but may not be currently possible.

Two builds seems like ALOT of upkeep. I really enjoy Donut Dodo, of course that may wear off because its shiny and new right now. I was never really into gun games so my opinion is biased.

I do have 2 questions though.

The enhanced version of Dragons Lair is painfully slow (dle11). Like half speed maybe. The regular version seems to play fine. Also is the Playstation emulator working? I have Thunder Storm (Data East Cobra Command) that loads but image is completely garbled and no amount of messing with H hold V hold etc etc changes that. Works fine on old version 4 build.

As always...Thanks

I'm OK with whatever you do... though I'd suggest going with whatever is easier to maintain.
