Ah, I understand now. That's the correct behaviour in the current release. The service menu now loads when you exit the first instance of Attract-Mode (default is now F4 on keyboard to exit Attract). I made this change for people who wanted to have different lists set up for different manufacturers or consoles or favs etc. - this way the service menu doesn't pop up when you go through multiple game lists.

If you want the previous press service for service menu you will need to map service to exit Attract-Mode in the A-M menus.
OK, when at the games list/pacman maze and I push TEST button in cab it takes me to said menu. I looked around and couldnt figure out what to do. I want the SERVICE button to be like it use to. Where it would allow updating splash screen, running ROM and console lists. etc. How do I do this.? Need my hand held on this one......thanks.

SIDE NOTE: Found a version of GORF thats put in. 172 folder and it works flawlessly....no slowing issues.

If you have a keyboard, that menu can be found when you EXIT Attract Mode (hit F4, when it asks if you wish to exit, hit yes)...

Are you saying I first NEED a keyboard to set it back the way it use to work? I do have a keyboard and I know it will work with it pushing F4 but what I want is to make that button active again. I dont want to have to open cab and hook up a keyboard to do what was simply a button push before. If it cant be done I'll stick with v3.72, if it can please explain how to revert to old way using a keyboard. I have my JAMMA harness wired to the TEST and SERVICE buttons. The ones youd push if this was NOT a Pi but a true arcade PCB. Im green to all this. Trying to learn it so I dont have to ask for help constantly. Im probably making this harder than it needs to be...

Ok... then you can go in to your CONTROLS settings (hit TAB ... then go to CONTROLS)... you will find a setting for EXIT. Select EXIT... then click ADD INPUT. When you push your TEST/SERVICE (which ever button you want). You will then assign the EXIT option to that button.

This will NOT get you EXACTLY what you want... but it will get you close. When you push that button it will bring up "EXIT ATTRACT MODE? Y/N" ... you would then have to select yes or no and when you do it will exit and then kick you to the service menu you desire.

BTW ... this is all based on assumptions here... I've not tested it, but it SHOULD work.

Perhaps Dee2er has an alternative way to maybe assign your test/service button to a custom slot that would open that menu... not 100% sure though.

So how do I shutdown the pi? Before I just had to press left or right arrows on my keyboard and it would take me to a menu where I can safely shutdown, and now it seems to be gone.

F4... exit... you're at the menu.

BTW, you can simply power down if you're in attract mode. You don't need to "shut down".

So I can power off the machine and I don’t have to worry about my Rpi dying? I ask because that’s what happened to my other pi. I was powering off without having to go to a menu and safely shutting down.

As long as its at the attract mode you can power down. Ive always exited screen saver to attract screen before shutting down (may not have to but I do it), never been an issue. Nothing is being written to the SD card so its safe.
