Alot better. Legible this time. Qbert has an audio pop though.

Looks like QBert runs slightly faster than the fastest refresh rate in 3.X, which is almost definitely responsible for the pops. QBert should be at 61.419025hz, fastest refresh we have currently is 61.035156hz

I will try to add the proper QBert refresh rate in the future. Until then the pop can probably be tuned out using the MAME menus slider adjustments (I forget the name of the setting offhand).

Vertical monitor question. I have a 19" G07 in my Ms. Pac-Man. I was running 3.84 but upgraded to 3.x and have an issue with the "bottom" (it's the right-side on a vertical oriented monitor) of the screen curling. For instance, playing Donkey Kong the girders on the right side of the screen curve "up". I didn't have this issue before.

I went into config.txt and edited the "overscan bottom" value, which you clearly say not to do, to get the curl to go away but then the screen became squished. My question is, I assume you set your settings in 3.x to be optimal and then what I should do is adjust away the curl by physically adjusting the monitor pots to expand the "width/height" to fit the screen properly and as a last resort adjust the config.txt settings to get everything squared away?

I'm not at a place to adjust the monitor right now and it needs a cap-kit in 2021 so when I do all that I'll upgrade to 3.x and make the necessary adjustments. For now I'm going to roll-back to my previous image (yes, I made a back-up) but wanted to ask about this for the future (and anyone else that ran into this issue). Thanks!

Possible bug??? When exiting back to attract mode getting a black screen with wavy lines you can barely see. If you hit any button the same game you we're just playing reloads and it you try and exit again it does. Like it hangs up or something. Pretty sure it has something to do with the changing of the refresh rates. 172 and advmame games I believe. Does not do it all the time, just once in a while.

There may be a bug in my res changing logic I have missed, I don't believe I've seen the issue as you're reporting it before.

Does there seem to be any rhyme or reason to the bug? Like does any game seem more likely to have it happen or similar?

do you mean it works properly again after relaunching the game and exiting again OR that once it happens the menu is essentially borked until reboot?
