Again, thank you for the assistance, those changes have worked! I now have working NBA Jam.. yay.

Just an FYI, I did the 3.X install about a week ago, then applied the update to 3.x.1, I have not edited the /boot/config.txt previously so maybe there is a little bug somewhere?
