ARpiCADE 4.2
ARpiCADE 4.2 - release notes
Still a little experimental and still only for low resolution use, but it's getting there. It's for any Pi4 but this hasn't been tested on an 8gig model as I don't have one, it may not work.
WHATS NEW
- perfect (or very close) refresh rates for most titles
- MAME 0.172 + 0.203 usable again with full res switching
- basic console support added (button configs may not be perfect...)
Atari 2600
Atari 7800
ColecoVision (emulator also supports MSX but it's not setup)
SEGA Genesis/MegaDrive
SEGA MasterSystem
SEGA 32X
SEGA CD/MEGA CD
SEGA Dreamcast
Nintendo Entertainment System
Super Nintendo
NEC PC Engine / TurboGRAFX
Vectrex
PlayStation
- service menu setup changes
can select vert rotation (either way ROR or ROL) from the service menu - independant of resolution
bug where system would freeze instead of reboot after service menu config change should be fixed
- added some auto-rotating-with-the-system Attract-Mode themes
- some config tweaks aimed at squeezing the most performance out of the Pi4
STILL NOT YET SUPPORTED
4 player adaptor
high res mode
networking things
Daphne
C64
Amiga
Gameboy variations
SuperGrafx (not sure whats wrong there...)
STILL NOT PERFECT
hiding the boot text, some of it is sometimes visible
AdvMAME

to resize for your SD card follow the Idaho Garagecade instructions here: http://aha-forums.com/wp/2018/02/02/how ... ory-cards/
Enjoy!
EDIT:
MAME 0.172 and 0.203 launcher update: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-dkBcQ ... sp=sharing hopefully will help make the MAME menus more readable. Just overwrite the ones in /boot/launchers/ after decompressing.

Re: ARpiCADE 4.2
Awesome D, is sf3 working in mame yet?
Re: ARpiCADE 4.2
got sf3 running nice in FBA but buttons are messed up, just got to learn how to remap in retroarch
Re: ARpiCADE 4.2
I still haven't been able to get CPS3 to run in the later MAME revisions, not sure whats going wrong there...
Re: ARpiCADE 4.2
got then running in 203 and 215 but really laggy, runs good in FBA though just gotta workout how to remap buttons.
Are there any instruction videos or pages on hoe to remap retroarch?

Re: ARpiCADE 4.2
Not be me, it's a pain to be honest. I recommend using the Retroarch quick menu control settings and saving for that game. If you use the main Retroarch control settings it can change the controls for the menu as well and it makes a confusing process that much worse...
I'm sure there are some guides by the Retroarch team (or possibly the RetroPie team) to setting up the controls in Retroarch, sorry I don't have any convenient to link.

Re: ARpiCADE 4.2
silly question but how do you save once you've made changes?
Re: ARpiCADE 4.2
it's in the same control menu in the RA quick menu 'Save Game Remap File'
Re: ARpiCADE 4.2
the button set up was all good in the 4.2 build but ive got weird fault where the screen if off to the left in sf3. The weird thing is it only effects the cps3 games, naomi is perfect
Re: ARpiCADE 4.2
This update has helped with being able to adjust my monitor without the screen being a mess. I can finally centre the screen and see the whole picture!
Thanks for the update!
