ARpiCADE_4 vers 3.2 (AKA ARpiCADE 4.3.2) - for Pi4 only
It's finally time for another ARpiCADE update!!!!!
This one fixes the worst bugs of the previous release. I would have liked to have done more to it so there's more to come in the future too. I've also mildly adjusted the name and version convention so as the RPi4 version can be more easily differentiated from the version for earlier Pi models.
ARpiCADE_4 version 3.2
Daphne has been changed to HypseusSinge
- still uses the Daphne rom folder and launcher script
- can now run games at 240p
- 'only launches properly once' bug fixed
Retroarch 4 player exit start button long hold shortcut issue is fixed
- the required script change is now automated when 4 player mode has been selected in the service menu
Extra bootfiles added for newer Pi4 models that won't boot on the earlier 480i supporting bootcode. You will have to manually overwrite some files with the (included) files if your Pi4 is not 480i compatible. Accepting this quirk, this release supports all Pi4 models to my knowledge.
- if you need the Newer Pi4 boot files they can be found in /boot/config-updater/newer_Pi4_bootfiles/ , just copy all the new bootfiles into /boot/ overwriting the originals. A config file is included to set 240p as the newer Pi4s cannot do 480i.
- if you need to go back to the original files for a different Pi4 they can be found in /boot/config-updater/original_Pi4_bootfiles/
There are probably more than a few adjustments that I've lost track of too. Hopefully nothing has been broken that previously worked. Unfortunately it seems every time I've gotten started working on this software over the last year something extremely important and distracting has happened... I'm sorry if you reported a big and I haven't gotten to it yet. I still need to tweak a few resolutions as well. Also I still need to rewrite the ARpiCADE instrucitons for the Pi4 variant which I'll now be referring to as ARpiCADE_4 - there's no included instructions for now...
FILES:
https://mega.nz/file/JxdQAAyK#4QPaYwlMa ... 871QBe8av4
- decompress the 7zip file and write the image to your SD card in whatever way you usually do
- should fit on 8gig or larger SD cards
- if you need a guide to resizing for larger SD cards I recommend the FrizzleFried guide here: https://idahogaragecade.com/2018/02/02/ ... ory-cards/
Enjoy
UPDATE:
Hypseus input fix:
https://mega.nz/file/c5syTLTI#nnH9iMKMA ... pjQpFzUZ7M
unzip and put the update folder and update.sh script into /boot/config-updater/ and run the update option from the serive menu.

Dragons Lair launches and exits fine, I can add credits but game will not launch, only allows credits to be added.

home/pi/.advance/advmame.rc is 0kb, nothing in file. I've replaced with previous version 4.3.1 which is 29kb. Hopefully no ill affects.
Re: ARpiCADE_4 vers 3.2 (AKA ARpiCADE 4.3.2) - for Pi4 only
That, I don't have the same here, advmame.rc is a 26.1kb file on both SD cards I checked...
Not sure what has caused yours to be 0kb - also not sure if anything had been changed since 4.3.1 - hopefully your quick fix is all thats required... hard to say.
What is the free space on the second partition for you? There should be about 182.3 MiB free... I ask because one of the ways I know SD cards can loose info is for the partition to be too full - it shouldn't be though...

Fixed. File is 27k not 29k. Not sure what happened but burned another image and just copied over that file because all roms were on first one already.

Have had a report of this not booting on a new Pi4... hopefully the user has just missed the extra bootfiles but it's possible the Pi4 has had another hardware change...

I bought a new Pi4 a week ago and it works fine with this release. Just had to copy those boot files over.

Re: ARpiCADE_4 vers 3.2 (AKA ARpiCADE 4.3.2) - for Pi4 only
I'm up and running on a new Pi4 but I am getting weirdness when running Advancemame 3.9, i.e. any ROMs loaded into the BOOT/romsArcade/mame-106 folder. It seems to be skipping frames. Sprites are jittery.
I've messed with all the settings in the in emulation video menu (i.e. P1Start + P1JoysticRight) and nothing fix it.
Any ideas?
