you would need to make a display for each manufacturer and point them at your custom romlist(s) in Attract-Mode. I haven't played with favourites lists etc. in Attract-Mode (keep meaning to try it but am usually chasing the newest enquiry/bug or testing various ideas).

I think @FrizzleFried has done this or similar, he may be of more help.

EDIT: don't stop asking questions etc. knowing any of this matters to other people helps keep me motivated and working on it.

Another edit: in the advmame launcher 11/7 matches 274 perfectly, just a touch wider than 5/4 - took some messing around to figure out.

Yep, ive made a favourites display and a NEO GEO display using tags "mvs" but it meant i had to tag every single neogeo game with "mvs" but would be awesome to import some premade romlists like capcom cps2 etc

Will ArPIcade ever support the PSP? I think the pi5 does a good job of emulating PSP stuff.

There's no reason it couldn't do PSP as far as I'm aware. I'll try to add it when I get around to improving consoles.

Update failed? Moved on from my vertical build to a fresh horizontal build. Used release image and put update in correct folder. Applied update and got normal unlegible info box on left side of screen just like on the vertical build. Hit enter, waited about 30 secs, alt + f4 and it went away and continued. Right near the end another box showed up with some type of warning in red, only word that I could make out was "failed" or at least I think that's what it said (crt). Thought something messed up so fresh image, did same thing. Appears it did update though...

sounds like I've tried to do too much with that update. It really would have worked easier as a fresh image, I should have uploaded a fresh image by now anyway... got distracted again with Guncon2.

The good news is from the sound of things it's unlikely to have done anything bad, except possibly to WINE. I made sure all the main bits ran before the WINE bits in the update.

So I’m going to give this a try in my 31hz 640x480 sega Naomi cab using a jamma to jvs adaptor.

Is it as simple as choosing hi res or 480p in the service menu to get this running on a 31hz screen?

No high res support yet. I've started on it though, just need to do the launcher logic. Whatever you do do not try to setup your monitor in config.txt on this build, that is now depreciated.
