Yeah, I know... you've already tested all the PC solutions out there (of which none I am that impressed with if I am being honest). But I have a 6 spot multi-gun showcase cabinet that I would LOVE to install one of these bad boys in to to run multiple HAPP GUN based games.
It would be THE BEES KNEES (an american saying meaning "awesome") if someone would come up with some hardware to interface a HAPP GUN with the ARpiCADE.
I would happily throw money in the direction of anyone who did that.

Re: HAPP Gun Interface
There may be a way... but I'm not sure if it was made. The guy who did the Gun4IR was planning an interface for [I think it was Playstation and arcade guns but don't quote me on it] to USB. I'd look in that direction, if you get your HAPP gun working as a mouse I can help with the rest.
Otherwise I have a PS2 USB lightgun I've been meaning to try and get going... if you don't mind some modding to your HAPP guns it could also be something to consider. I'm pretty sure there's a Linux kernel mod for the PS2 guns floating around the net.
Unfortunately I'm not much help 'til it's more or less an absolute position mouse. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

Re: HAPP Gun Interface
I acutally emailed a guy named David who made such a device called an Optigun adapter (also called USB2GUN it seems). He told me he's no longer making them due to lack of demand... but he included a link to the files necessary to make your own. That said... I have NO IDEA what I am doing on that front... but yeah, I supposed someone who did could make one!
Sorry, the demand for those stopped so we stopped manufacturing, but we have released the design as Open Source for those that wish to make them on their own.
