Programming Coin Acceptor

Post by olivehue512 » Tue Jun 18, 2019 6:11 pm

Sorry if I'm over looking the information in here but how do I change the settings for how much the coin mech needs before starting a game and for continuations? I.E. I'd like to have a dollar to start and 50 cents to continue. Also is there a way to do so through the system menus instead of having to go through linux?

There's no way to set the coin input values for all games at once, unless your coin mech handles it somehow. Most games by default will be one coin to start, one more to continue. However some games, mainly 90s ones, will be 2 coins to start with the default settings. Most if not all games can have this adjusted either using there game specific dipswitch settings (in MAMEs menus) or in their specific game service menus. I'm pretty sure at least some games will have trouble setting 2 different values for start and continue due to limitations of the original hardware.
