I downloaded the latest version today and was building a 4 way game list, everything was smooth, and I was getting a better feel for configuration and I noticed a few variations of SD and some others, one called invader? Which I was curious what it looked like, set it to invader, and now my image is blank and I cannot configure anything. Lucky I made a back up copy but, any reason why this would happen? Vertical standard low res monitor.

not sure. I'll have to check it out and see if I can figure it out. Could be something is broken, could just be a freak occurrence of something went wrong.

Well i popped back in a old copy and everything fired up as it was. I just decided to update check out some of the features I have not really looked into.

I burned the latest, plugged in a key board, F4 into the service menu set to vertical low resolution, used the SD version 2 set up my game list. Made some snap images for spooky remix, and then I tab'd into the menu and was looking to see what other features and things tried the different versions of SD, then cave, then invader and the whole thing went tits up when i set it to invader. I couldn't even control to exit out. Its froze up. After about 30-60 seconds of it stuck like that, i tried rebooting everything, and it goes through the splash screen, normal, and then after rom scan, blank sceen and I can not access the service menu or tab into configuration. Like its a total loss...

The Invaders in it's stock form doesn't work with the ARpiCADE. It uses Upper/Lower case code that confuses the Pi evidently. I did, at one point, go through it and fix it to actually work with the Pi... and I may have that version around somewhere, but I'm not 100% sure.

A somewhat similar looking/working layout is my OPACITY (for vertical) and OPACITY WIDE (for horizontal) layouts.
