Image distorted on some games

Hello,

I upgraded my pi2 to a pi3+ and I have image issue on some games. Arpicade version is 3.X.1. The image is distorted at the bottom of the screen. See pictures in the link below.

I tried different roms and emulators and still the same.

It's only on some specific titles (Bad Dudes, Shadow Dancer, Ghostbusters to name a fews...), otherwise on many games it work perfectly. Any idea what could this issue? Everything was fine with the Pi2.

I've had a few reports of problems with that particular refresh rate (57.444855). If you updated your software at the same time as your RPi it's not anything to do with the new hardware, just the new refresh rate.

I put this hacky work around together for someone but didn't hear if it helped... not sure if they got to trying it yet... If you want to give it a go replace /boot/launchers/resSwitch.sh with the one in the attached zipfile to try the workaround. It will make 57.444855hz games run slightly fast at 57.5hz.

I'll look into a proper fix for this soon.

It seem to work! I tested Bad Dudes and shadow force and both are ok. No more distorted screen.

I might have spoken prematurely...It fixed somes games as mentionned above, but create more issues with games which was already working correctly.

All Mortal Kombat games screen are now squished and not centered in the screen. They were ok before I changed the reswitch.sh file

Games like Shadow Dancer and Ghostbusters are both squished

I can't see whatever typo (?) has caused that to happen. I'll check it out and get back to you.

Maybe I can figure out the proper fix as I'd rather not spend too long on a hacky workaround, when I can put the same time into a fix.

I'm surprised what I posted previously worked at all, I've realised since I uploaded a Pi4 version....

Please try this version for ARpiCADE 3.X.1:

I've changed the offending res/refresh to be 0.0000001hz faster this time, should be basically indistinguishable from correct (assuming it works right for you). Tested on my office PVM, please let me know if you have any luck with it this time.
