save DIP settings on exit?

Hi Folks - this might be an advmame question - but how do I set the DIP switches and have it retain those values for the next time I play the game?

Dip switches can be edited in the MAME 'tab' menu (accessed with 'tab' on a keyboard or the shortcut 'start + joystick right') for any MAME version (as long as the dipswitches for that game are supported). Settings should save automatically when you exit the game.
