Six buttons layout
Hi, I have my two player cabinet with 6 player buttons for each player. I tried playing street fighter and marvel games but the 6th button which is the last bottom button will not work on either player 1 or player 2. Any help be great, thanks.
Re: Six buttons layout
How is b6 hooked up on your cab? Also how is the dipswitches on the RaspberryJAMMA currently set?
If you have 6 buttons on JAMMA you will need the dipswitches set with 1 & 2 OFF, 3 & 4 ON.
Not knowing your setup it's hard to speculate further.

Re: Six buttons layout
I'm having this exact problem. I'm using normal Jamma with a kick harness. Dip switches are 1 & 2 OFF, 3 & 4 ON. Using a new 3.83 image. All of the inputs are registering when running jstest except for button 6.
Any suggestions?

For JAMMA and a kick harness you'll want dipswitches 1&2 on and 3&4 off. You may be accidentally pulling B6 to ground with the dipswitches 3&4 on depending on your cabs wiring.

Re: Six buttons layout
Got it working. I realized that the setting I was using was actually 1&2 on and 3&4 off (causing b6 not to work). Switched to 1&2 off and 3&4 on and all buttons work.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Six buttons layout
How do you wire and set up for buttons 5 & 6? My harness only has 4 button/ 2player.
Re: Six buttons layout
Did you get the kick harness kit with the RaspberryJAMMA hardware? It is the easiest way to wire in the extra buttons. To add buttons 5 and 6 you will need 4 wires to run from your control panel to the board (one wire for buttons 5 and 6 for each player). At the button end crimp the appropriate size spade terminals for your buttons, at the board end crimp the little pins from the kick harness kit. If you're adding the buttons to the cab too or if it's not done already you will also need to connect the GND connection of the extra buttons to the GND connection of another button as the RaspberryJAMMA kick harness doesn't carry an extra GND wire. Plug the kick harness pins into the kick harness housing, skipping the locations for button 4 for each player as you don't need it. The kick pinout can be seen in this image: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6UOe ... i1idTI1cHc
If you didn't get kick harness bits when you ordered these are the parts I use:
housing: https://au.element14.com/molex/22-01-20 ... a%2Fsearch
crimp pins: https://au.element14.com/molex/08-50-00 ... a%2Fsearch
the links are Australian but they're standard Molex parts that should be available locally to you.
You could alternately wire the extra wires into the JAMMA harness but that would complicate using other JAMMA boards.

Thanks Dee2er.. I didn't order the harness with the board. I do believe I have that connector so I can make my own. The buttons use the same ground as the other buttons, correct?
