Hi!

Currently running ArPicade 3.71.

I have about 20 games or so installed in my setup, which is stock. I've noticed at some point my Donkey Kong game was no longer in the list of games. Here's what I've noticed:

- If I exit from attract mode and get to the other menu (hit ESC then exit Attract Mode) , the game is listed and starts successfully;
- I have no favorite filter in place.
- If I manually edit gamelist.xml to add dkong.zip, it works. However, as soon the gamelist is automatically rebuilt (after a reboot or manually starting the rebuild), it disappears again.
- I tried to move the dkong.zip from advmame to mame172 and the same behaviour occur.

So the problem seems to be the game list building process that is removing the game. I would prefer to leave the automatic building in place, so do you have a clue on why the process is removing this game?

Intereting issue there... I think I know what will be going wrong.

First up, what is gamelist.xml? what exact file? Just curious it's not the answer...

AND NOW THE ANSWER TO YOUR ISSUE...
This is all my fault sorry, dkong.zip (the parent rom) is being ignored by the rom scanning script due to me using the Jap version (as it is the common one is Australia). To fix your issue just remove dkong from the 'hide' array in /home/pi/.attract/noPornRoms.sh if you need to edit it on a Pi to access the file the command you want is:
nano /home/pi/.attract/noPornRoms.sh
once it's not in the hide array anymore the scanner will add it to the list like it should.

This makes senses as I think it disappeared after the upgrade to 3.71. Thanks for the info, I will look into it.

And sorry for the confusion about gamelist.xml... I got confused with another question.

The file i was referring to was the romlists folder, namely my configured display named "Arcade.txt"

I’ve loaded a rom, but it isn’t appearing in the Attract-Mode list?

Some versions of roms require parent versions to work, but when you have a parent and a sibling, Attract-Mode will show both. So to “hide” the parent, there is a list maintained here:

/home/pi/.attract/noPornRoms.sh

Look for the line starting with

hide=

And then look through the list to make sure your rom isn’t being hidden. Either remove the name from this list, or if you are curious, there may be a more advanced rom set you should look to add.
