Filters help

I can’t figure out filters. Is there a good faq or document on how to use?

From reading the threads I gather there are .txt files in the emulator folders that feed info to attract mode. I read somewhere on the AttractMode forum about catver.ini

I feel like I’m missing some of the metadata (if that’s the best way to describe it)

Here’s my setup: I’m using kickman’s vertical image from klov, using arpicade 3.82, and frizz’s sd vertical theme.

Here’s what i got to work: filtering out bios, creating a filter for “pac”, creating a filter for Namco.

What I can’t get to work: filtering for Atari or Nintendo, filtering out 8-way joystick games.

Any advice?

The problem will be if you are using the rom scanning scripts I wrote, they do not actually put all that info into the rom lists. The only metadata being used currently is year and manufacturer.

I can work on this in the future but I have no quick fix, sorry.
