Categories/Number Players/Number of Buttons....

So with others writing some scripts on another forum. I was able to get alot of the extra information into my ARpiCADE system now.

For example:
This is what I pull into my lst files. Advmame(mame106) (working on the rest of mame's lst files)

game (
name puckman
description "PuckMan (Japan set 1, Probably Bootleg)"
year 1980
manufacturer "Namco"
category Maze / Collect
nplayers 2P alt

numplayers 2

Man now with so many themes I see much more information!!!!! I knew it could be done...

I’m interested in learning how to do this so I can make category filters. How are these tags added?

It's not particularly straight forward. The rom scanning script needs updating to have these categories filled, also the reference files need to be updated.

I'd recommend just waiting for the next release as they will be included at that point. Also the rom scanning will be a lot faster than ever before thanks to the hard work of ozfalcon (thanks again).

@cool_factor not sure yet, it's one of those done when it's done things. I discovered a bug yesterday that has put the release back... (not a bug in the romscanning stuff). Hopefully I can turn the bug fix into an upgrade too, but I don't want to say too much in case it all goes poorly.

deer2r says it's more than one simple thing he is right.

However I do have it down modifying his scripts, and another script that writes the files his system needs. I have seen the newer ones(ver 1) that his is going to use and it will be awesome.

If you look at frizzleFred's Theme SDArcade 4.0 you can see how he is using some of these items(number of players and genre), looks nice, but does allow you to start to create other play list(filters)
