Re: Street fighter EX2
It wont run great on a Pi3, you're basicly stuck with the Playstation version. Later Pis can run the arcade version.

Hi
What version Pi would I need to run arcade Ex2?
Would that Pi work on your interface board which I already have?
Is there any info how to run the arcade rom on arpicade (which emulator, do i need bios files and things)
thanks again

Re: Street fighter EX2
Bios files for SFEX2 are qsound.zip and cpzn2.zip, I think the best MAME version for it is 0.172, and you will want a Pi5 running ARpiCADE_5.
To upgrade a Pi3 RaspberryJAMMA to a Pi5 you need a HDMI to micro HDMI adaptor and the ARpiCADE_5 software. Older 1A fuses should also be changed to a 2.5A (at least) - but I've been installing 2.5A for years now so you may already have one (the silkscreen on the PCB will say 1A even on boards with higher rated fuses - ignore the silkscreen).

Thanks for that
Which Pi5 would I need to run such a game, they have different RAM options.
thanks

Oh, and sorry one more query
I saw you mentioned a PS1 version. Does that play fine on current Pi 3b ?
Is there already PS1 emulation software on arpicade - id need to add a bios and a disc dump or something I take it? I was only looking at arcade because i was thinking of 'now loading' times lol

Re: Street fighter EX2
Yeah, PS1 version should be good on Pi3.
Some games will run without a retail BIOS, but some will need a BIOS image to run. Can't remember with SFEX2 if it needs it, you may be OK without. Pretty sure the loading times are faster than real hardware too as old CD rom drives were pretty slow.

Re: Street fighter EX2
Sorry which pi5 would be suitable for ex2 arcade. 8gb ram or any?
Also what about mvc2
Does dreamcast one work on 3b and arcade on pi5 or not an option for either
Appreciate all the insight again

Re: Street fighter EX2
DC and Naomi are about as hard as each other to emulate. There's no DC emulator included in the ARpiCADE_3 branch of the software. Pi4 and Pi5 are the way to go for that stuff.
I'm yet to find any real difference in RAM amounts on Pi5, at least as far as emulating arcade games goes they all work about the same. It's possible there will be a reason to need more RAM in the future or that the lowest RAM version OCs the best or something but as it is I don't have a recommended version after trying 2, 4 and 8 gig variations.
