Mame 037 resolution squashed RPi4 4.3

Really enjoying playing with Arpicade and I have some consoles running well. I have a romset that loads with Mame 037 but the resolution is out horizontally, very narrow image but correct height. Can anyone help in how to change the resolution?

Ive decided to use Mame-230, which seems to have a good rate of success with a different set.
