Already tried the qsound bios zip with the 207 ver of roms and it would still throw back to main screen, I'm just about to try cool_factor's way with 172 rom to see how that goes ;)

Update: well downloading the files of 173 from the URL cool_factor mentioned were in 7zip so I extracted and made into zip as they didn't work as a 7zip format, when installed as zip they do the same thing in the 173 folder on arpicade just reboot back to main screen. Qsound.zip is installed in the 173 folder is that correct guys?... Not getting anywhere with these cool games

I could be mistaken but I think the FBA set is based off MAME 0.173 so you may find the CPS2 games run in it.

I normally recommend 172 first but as you're having no luck with your roms in it may as well try FBA, CPS2 should run well in AdvMAME, or MAME078 too if you happen to have older roms. If you have an overclocked Pi 0.203 may even be fast enough but I'm not sure of that.

You should change wboy to MAME 172. Runs much better.

I've made a new list of recommendations to go with the 3.71 release having a couple of new emulators. 1670 games on the list.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6UOe ... WdDYTV1SG8
Is there an update of this list?
And why is the proper mame-NNN folder not mentioned?
This list is not very clear on what to put in which folder.

I just moved from a PI3 to a PI4 and figured that I have to go through the pain of emulator to game assignments.
This is the biggest downside of the whole emulation approach if you ask me. ** Configuration Management ** yigh...

Anyway.... I downloaded the 4.3 , my latest version I had for the PI3 was 3.9 so I want to copy the roms in their corresponding folders, but I see that the folders are incompatible:

4.3: \romsArcade\
bios
daphne
fba
mame-037
mame-078
mame-106
mame-139
mame-172
mame-174
mame-203
mame-215
mame-230
naomi

3.9: \romsArcade\
daphne
fba
mame-037
mame-078
mame-094
mame-106
mame-139
mame-172
mame-203

For example where do I put the mame-094 roms in the new 4.3 setup ?

To get the best out of upgrading to Pi4 I'd recommend moving roms to newer MAME versions comparred to an earlier Pi setup. If you keep all the games in the same emulators you will get less out of the upgrade. Pi4 is powerful enough that lots of (maybe most?) MAME stuff runs great in 0.172 or newer, basically use 0.172, 0.203 or 0.230 whenever possible for the best results.

In the case of your 0.094 roms you could try them in 0.106 (assuming the rom hadn't changed they may work without finding different romsets). You would be better off finding 0.172 versions of the same game roms and running them in MAME 0.172 (or 0.203 or 0.230).

Chd file?

I have it working in my Naomi emulator on my pc .. and it doesn’t have a chd file
In the emulator ….

I moved the zip to the arpicade Naomi /rom folder but it don’t load…

Not sure how I missed the Naomi question in this thread, pretty sure I helped via email, but for anyone else with Naomi game confusion:

Cart games just use a zipfile, often quite a large one.

GD-Rom games need a zipfile and a chd, the zipfile is often tiny as the games GD rom image is the chd.

Naomi games also need bios rom(s) to work.
