I'm having a hard time finding an emulator that plays Viper Phase 1 acceptably. Actually, I can only find one emulator thus far that will work... MAME172, and it plays at about 1/2 frame rate...
...the other emulators (including FBA) seem to simply kick back to attract mode when I attempt to use them.
Is this game simply "too much" for the Pi?

I think the audio is buggy in earlier versions of MAME due to the decryption, I could be wrong though. My recommended list has it in 172, maybe it's just better off the list entirely?

Yeah, 172 even overclocked to 1350 is maybe 1/2 speed unfortunately. Bummer too... it's a great game.
