Hi there,

I have a MK rom in my mame-078 folder but when I try to play it, the image just scrolls on the screen.
My CRT is set to low res horizontal.
If I set my monitor to high res, the scrolling stops, but the image doesn't show up properly, so I can't play the game - it's like the screen is split in 2 and what should be on the right side is on the left and vise-versa, so definitely doesn't like the res. setting.

What can I do to fix this? I also tried 240p horizontal and it does the same as low res.

MK, MK2, MK3, MK Ultimate all do the same thing. There might be other games but I haven't tried them all.

I'm on the newest build 3.81 but my buddy is still on 3.7 and he has the same issue.

Update:
I just tried NBA Jam, it scrolls also, and just tried WWF Wrestlemania, same thing, so might be affecting all the games in this emulator...

For fun, I took a copy of my MK rom and put it in my vert cab setup and it works, same build (3.81) and it's also setup as low res.

So then, I put my horiz. cab into low res vertical mode and the game plays fine (other than it being sideways lol), no scrolling screen.

Any ideas?

Sounds like your monitor just needs a light adjustment to the vertical position/hold. At the moment any game running in 256p will have the rolling issue for you, maybe 288p games too. When the system swaps to 256p you start having the rolling. You will find there's a setting on your monitor where all the different resolutions will be stable without adjustments between them.

You definately do not want to run high res on a low res monitor.
