Re: ARpiCADE 3.82 Release!
I too am experiencing popping/audio issues with Galaga in .172 (i've not tested anything else in 172 thus far) on my vertical cabinet. I moved Galaga over to ADVMAME and it works perfectly. When I have some time I plan on poking through a few other .172 games.
I don't think many of my horizontal games use .172 so that would explain why I didn't encounter this issue earlier. I just moved to the latest build on my vertical cabinet and as such, I'm still testing, etc.

Re: ARpiCADE 3.82 Release!
I can confirm this is an issue with me as well. I only had time to test a couple more games... 1941 Counter Attack seemed fine... MAYBE an errant click but lots of stuff goes on all the time... and perhaps the issue is only with older games as when I tried Q*Bert... yup... very apparent and annoying clicking/popping going on.
Could this be a simple setting somewhere?

Yes, seems to be across the board, I'm guessing a setting as well, just don't know where...

Re: ARpiCADE 3.82 Release!
OK, i moved all my games over from .172 to .078 as I have a full MAME2003 set to use. I was able to get matching roms for the vast majority of what I had...and the few remaining I am testing over at .192...
QUESTION RE: moving Q*Bert from .172 where it worked with voices, etc... but with the popping sounds to .078 where it works great without popping, etc, but it's missing all "samples". Where would I look to see where .078 is looking for it's samples?

Re: ARpiCADE 3.82 Release!
it should be /home/pi/.mame078/mame.ini . It's also possible you need an older version of the sample set for the older MAME version, no idea which games have been changed over the years but I know some have.
I'll look into the popping audio tomorrow. My test bench has been tied up all night compiling MAME.

Console games are not listed on atract mode. I have the roms unzipped, without spaces and performed console rom scan. Any hint?

Make sure the console games are in their corresponding folders (PlayStation in PlayStation, etc).
Re: ARpiCADE 3.82 Release!
What game list are you using? If you are looking at the all games list you will also need to pick combine console and arcade gamelists to create the all games list.
If you're looking at the console list or have already combined the lists I'm not sure what the issue may be. Hopefully with some more info we can figure it out.

Re: ARpiCADE 3.82 Release!
Did you have a chance to look in to the popping/ticking audio issue with .172 by chance? I'm hoping for a simple "change this to this in this configuration file" type of fix.
