Re: ARpiCADE_5 - for Pi4 or Pi5
So far so good. I imaged my last attempt pre-269 install... I then did the auto install in the cabinet via update. I then moved the card back to the PC. Before, just accessing the card killed it (somehow). Now... I was able to go in to the BOOT drive and change SAMPLES to SAMPLE... safe-eject then take it back to the cab without issue. I suspect that issue is resolved with version 7....

I strongly think Linux changed something that version 5 just doesn't like. Regardless, just glad we're moving forward again. Between you and Dee2er s findings this next release should be near bulletproof.

Yeah... I just went in to the same card that worked last test accessing/modifying the BOOT drive... and made the edits for hiscores...
Good news: The card worked... back and forth... windows folder... linux folder... it doesn't seem to matter... and I didn't verify once.
Bad news: My first attempt at adding hiscores failed. Back to re-check my work.

EDIT: I imagine not changing HISCORE from 0 to 1 in the plugin.ini just might be the issue.
Will report back.

Re: ARpiCADE_5 - for Pi4 or Pi5
....and with that... we have success! Both .251 and .269 are both saving high scores (to the same file ... I set/read high scores for Strikers 1942 in both)...
The only remaining tiny nags... error screens for .251 and .269... and then if it bothers people, the intro screen...
...and of course my own custom ROMlists I get to put together.
Thanks for all the help Dee2er and thanks for testing Paragon v7 Cool...
I am very happy that I decided to go with the Pi5 vs settling with the Pi4.

I'm sure the no nag recompile will take care of those error messages... You guys need to compare all your notes so nothing gets missed for the next release.

Looks good. Be sure to change plugin.ini in both .mame and mame269 to show hiscore 1 instead of hiscore 0.cool_factor wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 10:01 pmso for mame 269 hiscore is this the correct way?
