Annoyingly, for me who is sick of patching and compiling MAME (and testing/fixing romsets) at the moment, MAME 0.275 supports Primal Rage 2 which is stuck on a reboot loop in 274 and also fixes some bug I didn't even know existed in Strider 2 (I thought it was working in 172 but you can freeze it up with button mashing). A quick test on non patched GroovyMAME 0.275 suggests both are fullspeed on Pi5 on 275...

BTW... I failed to mention... after the latest update...

(a) Updating... crashed. No kidding. It crashed with the UPDATING screen stuck on screen and a super tiny text box at the left. I just about shit to be honest as it takes a good solid 2 hours make a new 256GB card... but... when I rebooted... all was fine. Everything worked... and it appeared the update "took".
(b) I noticed a geometry change... I was able to adjust it to look even better than it did before.
(c) I really REALLY enjoy the much easier to read screen when exiting the system.

Not sure why it crashed. Not sure WHERE it crashed. But everything seems to work... so at least the majority of the update "took".

Thank you Dee2er for the update!

I thought mine did the same, I just followed the included readme.txt file and did what it said and it got past that point, seems to hang forever then I remembered Dee2ers instructions.. After that it continued and was perfect.

Very likely it crashed doing some WINE stuff. It would only have effected FIFJ anyway so not a huge deal if it didn't install properly. If I had to guess, you running 480i made the windows DX installer popups smaller than when I tested at 240p (luckily, now there's a working fullscreen function I can make similar popups bigger in the future, if they're needed) - they were the enter, wait, alt+f4 bit mentioned in the readme. I made sure all the important bits were done first though, you should be fine - and we can sort out the missing bits later if you like.

This was a trickier than usual update... glad I didn't cause you to waste 2 hours.

Anyone have issue with SEGACD/MEGACD roms not loading? Have bios' in roms folder but game just goes back to game list like atomiswave was doing before the last update?

I'll take a look and see what I can figure out.

Unfortunately I am now 50/50 on the update. I attempted to update my vertical image and ... unfortunately ... had a problem. The update errored out exactly like my horizontal version. Same little window in the same exact spot... this time I didn't worry and powered down. I reboot and it loaded through the intro screen and when I got to the LOADING screen I felt pretty good... but it sticks right there... at the LOADING screen. I can mess with the keyboard a bit and sure enough a dialog box will come up.

:(

I'm in the process of re-imaging the sdmemory card from backup... I'll only have lost the last couple weeks of scores but I've not really been playing much.

I only really wanted to update so the backend linux screen would be readable but meh... I'll just deal with it on the vertical cabinet.

Well... odd. Now I am 2/3 with updating.

Let me explain... exactly the behavior.

The first time when it failed (above)... I then brought it back to the computer where it found errors via Paragon. I corrected the errors with paragon and it tested clean. It still crashed at the same spot... the loading screen.

I re-burned my sdmemory card. I then figured... screw it.. and I re-updated.

It did the exact same thing. It crashes to that white box eventually. The box seems to let you choose between two boxes... top or bottom.. but you can't really choose... it does nothing. I powered down. I powered up and this time it crashed at the intro screen... Uh... OK.

So I take the card to the PC and sure enough, errors are found... errors are corrected... then back to the cabinet...

I power up and... IT WORKS?!?

Picture looks NICE (oddly even better than before and it looked nice before)... and i love being able to see the console.

I have NO idea what is going on or why... but ultimately all is good.
