FireShark gameplay issues

Post by cool_factor » Wed Nov 21, 2018 1:23 am

Going thru games list....tried to play FireShark, it's in .106 folder. Loads, plays, no sounds. So tried newer .203 version in .192 folder, loads, plays, has sounds but sound is warbled/warped sounding and gameplay is slower. Do I need a .192 version or is there a setting in a menu I need to change? Any suggestions helpful. Thanks.....

In AdvMAME you'll want the sample samesame.zip (Same Same Same and Fire Shark are the same game), you'll also want to add "fireshrk" to the advThree array in /boot/launchers/advmame.sh and the sound should work.

Sounds like the rom you have for 203 works fine in 192 but is running slow. AdvMAME 3.0 should work good.

So does samples file samesame.zip need to be renamed or will it work as named? Or since I tried the .203 version should I just drop that into the advmame folder again (.106)?

Due to the large version difference I doubt the 203 version will work in 106 but if it does no harm should come of using it, if it doesn't work you'll need the 106 version. The sample can stay called samesame.zip (in /boot/sample/).

EDIT: just tried the 192 rom I have (don't have a 203 set yet) and it works in both 203 (runs slow in 203) and 106 so you're prob fine.

OK. Heres an update. Added "fireshrk" to the correct array as posted above. I took the .203 version and dropped it into the .106, game plays, but still no sound. Do I need to add that samesame.zip to the samples folder? The only one I could find is a huge file, its like 172mb???

Correct... you have to put samesame.zip in to the samples folder and yeah, the size is due to the fact that they are larger samples...
