That's odd, I don't use Windows so am not familar with Etcher but I believe it's pretty much the standard these days - I haven't heard of anyone having an issue with it. It sounds like you don't have a successful install of the software, did you do anything except burn the image to the card? Maybe you adjusted it for extra space or something?
You did write to the whole SD card and not just one partition of it or something?

I've actually been using Etcher on my mac and haven't ran into issues.

I didn't do anything to the image after it was created other then move over some ROM files.
I will try to make a new version using Win32Disk Imager, after a complete format of the SD card. After reading around abit it turns out something the OS will think that it has complete writing but has not. I have done a new write of the image without the validation and let the card sit for 10 minutes, and then ejected it without doing anything else so just the fresh image is present. I will reply back later with the results.

After poking around a bit on the forum found someone with the same issue [even the same blinking lights] their solution was to upgrade to 3.82. Now rebuilding the SD card with this image.
Etcher still failed on the validation dropping it in board tonight to see what happens and will report back.
Worked. First time. Going to load on some ROMS and see what we can do.
