Completely lost.
Just received my unit today and after I plugged it in I get the bottom part of the screen cut off. New to all of this and when I try to read instructions and other people's comments I can't find anything that they are describing.
Re: Completely lost.
Using a 19" lcd monitor
Re: Completely lost.
Not sure offhand what the issue is but I'm sure we can figure it out. By default ARpiCADE is setup in low res mode so it could be as simple as swapping to high res mode (I'm assuming your LCD is a high res monitor?) if you haven't already done so.
It's also possible it's something else, can you post a photo of the issue (1000 words and all that)?

Re: Completely lost.
Will send pics when I get off work in 9hrs
Re: Completely lost.
Does anyone know how to share a picture that is getting a "too large" error?
Re: Completely lost.
OK if you changed the res and your monitor says it can't display the image then it was probably the right res in the first place.
You will need to shrink the pictures file size if you're trying to upload it to the forum. Using a photo editing software you can make the picture physically smaller as well as reduce the picture quality to make the file much smaller than a raw photo from a camera. Otherwise you could also just upload the picture to somewhere else, maybe Google drive or a photo site and link it here.

Re: Completely lost.
There's a couple of possible answers here. If your monitor has picture adjustment built into it (or an auto adjust function) I'd try that first. If that isn't an option or doesn't work we can adjust the image put out by the Pi to suit the monitor (read on).
If you haven't already done so make a full backup image of the SD card prior to editing anything, just in case. When I say make a backup image I mean the whole SD card using disk imaging software, don't just copy the files you can see to your computer as it will need to be bit perfect.
I strongly recommend downloading Notepad++ if you use Windows, the built in text editors of Windows will break the file formatting of some Linux files that can lead to other issues.
Once backed up, you will need to edit the file config.txt, right near the top of the file are some overscan adjustment options. I don't know what yours is set to currently to suggest the changes you need but find these 2 lines (they may or may not have the hash at the start of the lines and the numbers may be different)(left and right is what you want as the monitor is rotated):

assuming the hashes arn't there already try putting the hashes at the start of the lines to disable the overscan, save and try in you cab again. Alternately if the hashes are already there try removing them and you can then adjust the picture area using the numbers, both positive and negative numbers can be used. You may have to make several changes checking the results in your cab to get it just right for your setup. Your photo makes it look like one side is OK so it may be only one of the lines actually needs to be changed.#overscan_left=33
#overscan_right=32
Re: Completely lost.
Ok, so do I use notepad++ to both copy the sd card as well as edit the overscan text?
