So today I noticed that both Arkanoid and Arkanoid II appear sideways when they load:

The ROMs are using mame-078 and I cannot seem to find any place where I can rotate the screen 90 degrees like in most other MAME versions. Any idea where this option may be?
Thank you!

Figured it out! Doing even more Google searching around and then finding some other config files online with some ideas on where to look, I found that in this directory:
/home/pi/.config/retroarch
I needed to edit this .cfg file:
mame078_libretro_224.cfg
And change:
video_rotation = "0"
to
video_rotation = "3"
And now it works!

I genuinely thought there were scripts within arpicade that automatically rotated the games.
But this is definitely good to know.
Thanks

It has not been an issue with very many games, only those using MAME 2003 and it's because that emulator does a good job of translating an analog control to a joystick. Specifically a dial. So games like Tempest and Arkanoid play really great with that emulator!

Is your monitor mounted horizontally in the cab? or is it just the picture making it look that way?
If your monitor is horizontal the low res only vertical setting will be wrong for your setup (vertical refers to your monitors physical orientation in this option). From what I can see the rest looks as it should from using that option, the menu is upside down due to the default rotation for vertical being that way - the menu hasn't actually changed at all, there's an option at the top of the file .boot/config.txt to flip the orientation if you do need to do so.
From ARpiCADE 3.82 mame078_libretro_224.cfg doesn't exist, each Retroarch emulator core only has one main config file now - there are a bunch of append config files that are used to overwrite specific details based on the logic in the launchers.
What is your actual setup and what do you want the RaspberryJAMMA to be setup like? I maybe wrong but it seems like you may have wanted the horizontal settings...

You're right, my monitor is mounted horizontally and i want horizontal setup.
But... I forgot to tell you the reason why i was trying to change orientation.
Double Dragon on MAME078 appears like this (see below) with horizontal setup: image does not fit the monitor as it does with vertical setup, is completely to the left side.

I'll have a look, it's probably just a resolution I need to add another amend config for. I run Double Dragon in AdvMAME (or maybe 172 now, I'd have to check), it may be worth trying one of those as a quick fix if you haven't already. The 078 rom may work in AdvMAME (I'm not sure but the versions of MAME are relatively close together so maybe) if you don't have a newer set to try.

I tried Double Dragon in advmame (with the .106 rom): resolution is good, even if the game is a little slow.
Then, i tried to play it in FBA (0.2.97.40 rom) and the resolution is like in MAME78 (see below).
