Try this: Out of curiousity I took Tempest out of the nosdl array in the /boot/launchers/advmame.sh launcher and tried it again. This causes Tempest to run in AdvMAME 1.4 rather than 3.9-1. Fixed. File is 27k not 29k. Not sure what happened but burned another image and just copied over that file because all roms were on first one already.

home/pi/.advance/advmame.rc is 0kb, nothing in file. I've replaced with previous version 4.3.1 which is 29kb. Hopefully no ill affects.

Dragons Lair launches and exits fine, I can add credits but game will not launch, only allows credits to be added.

i use the ultimarc spinners with zero issues. I have an 8 way rotary for frontline and wild western so your rotary should work. just have to figure out the settings in mame to use.
