So i've finally completed my 1tb image. Everything is working nicely except one small weird issue with dreamcast marquees displaying the wrong image. Im using Frizledfried Diamondplate Final layout. Wheels and snaps work perfectly but when i put my marquee's in the the folder (all named perfectly) they display the wrong game! Everyone other emulator works perfectly except dreamcast. Any ideas?

No idea... console wise I've only tried marqees for whole systems in the past, not individual games. As consoles don't have marqees I never made console folders for them - the console system marquess are just in with the MAME ones. Dreamcast should be dreamcast.png based on how I use it (but I haven't even got that in my setup at the moment). Beyond that I'll have to look into it as I'm not even using a theme that uses marquees currently... I'll check it out.

Did you have any luck with the powering up issue?
EDIT: 1tb! I think you have the biggest card going I've heard of. I'm guessing you're not making backup images of the SD card... damn, I've filled HDDs with 64gig images in the past...

Haha I have backed up my 1tb to an image on my hdd and it took 8 hours! I have complete psx, dreamcast, megacd etc roms on there so figured i'd go 1tb. Still have about 300gb free for whatever comes in the future :)

Actually id be happy with a static dreamcast marquee. All the other consoles do have a static but not dreamcast for some reason, thats why i downloaded some custom marquees. I'll search for the dreamcast.png and if not in the mame marquee folder ill put one in there.

Touch wood, the machine with the powerboard spliced in has been powering the pi recently so fingers crossed it stays that way.

I cant seem to find a rom of Strikers 1945 II and III that will work in any of the mame versions. The image is always in wrong aspect ration and stretched a bit horizontally. Strikers 1945 works in 172 with perfect ration though. Anyone got roms of these two cool games that work right?

No idea why but I forgot to include the dreamcast marquee from ARpiCADE_4 (right click, save as)

For Strikers 1945 2 and 3 use AdvMAME (MAME 0.106), if the video menu in AdvMAME doesn't help get the image right we can probably force it with the launcher, just let me know.

Yep got them running in 106 full speed but the image isnt right. They are both too wide. Got the dreamcast image working. Thank you :)

I'll have to tweak them using the launcher. There's some logic to fix 224 line games for non rotated games but I haven't got the same for running games rotated. It may take a bit of experimentation to get it right.

EDIT: in the advmame launcher find this:
# vert game on hori monitor
elif [ $rot == 90 ] || [ $rot == 270 ]; then
$advmame $1 $aconfig
else
and change it to:
# vert game on hori monitor
elif [ $rot == 90 ] || [ $rot == 270 ]; then
$advmame $1 $aconfig -display_aspect 5/3
else
and it should bring them within the tolerances of the other emulators.

Another edit: do you think Ikaruga and other Naomi rotated games could be a little wider? They're a touch thinner than 274... not sure if it's worth tweaking though.

This worked! Another question (tell me to stop any time).. trying to make a PSYKYO playlist / display. I have created a rule that manufactur contains psykyo and chosed list allGames but nothing will show up. Am i doing something wrong? Wanted to make a capcom display etc as well.
