Mk2 How to

I have done a lot of reading found that 078 Mame was the one to run MK2 so I found 0.78 rom and does not run in 0.78 folder can get it to run in others but not right.
Running 3.9 arpicade on pi 3b+
Any advice would be great
What rom sets do you guys run?

MK2 should run great in 078, if your rom won't run in 078 but will run in other versions of MAME it's probably not the right version for 078.

I came home tonight and search the web for every 078 mk2 rom I could find
078 078 Plus and 0.37b5 just in case tried them in ROM folders 078 and 203 and at best they run slow and choppy with bad sound can someone steer me to the right 078 mk2 rom?
I keep reading and feel like I’m not getting anywhere

ok so I have the right rom but controls do not work and mame tab memu does not work
I reinstalled the image it was the same no mame keyboard shortcuts work in 078 ?
any ideas?

You should be able to open MAMEs menus using p1Start+Joy1Right

Using the default ARpiCADE settings the keyboard is only partially working in RetroArch due to the hotkeys system.
