Wifi issue

Post by mR_CaESaR » Sat Apr 07, 2018 12:23 pm

Has anybody come across an issue where their wifi just wouldn't register?

Restarting the router and restarting arpicade simply didn't work.

I even tried removing the SSID and PW of the config file and it still wouldn't connect.

When I run ifconfig I get the following result..

I've been troubleshooting this for a couple of days now and just couldn't be bothered wasting any more time on it, so I'm doing a fresh install lol.

I figured I'll post it up just in case someone else has come across this issue

Just formatted, fresh install of arpicade and I still have the exact same issue :x :x :x

I've even tried editing /etc/dhcpcd.conf file to add a static address and I'm still stumped.

Wonder what the issue is.. It's pointing to the router, but I've made no changes to my router recently..

I haven't encountered this issue but when my kids got tablets they were very unreliably connecting to the net, I had to change the routers WiFi channel setting from auto to something specific to make them stable. I can't remember more specifics than that and no longer have that router (it got returned in an attempt to get me back online).

WiFi is far from my speciality but I'd start with logging into the router in a browser and checking if the Pi is showing up in the attached devices there.

Wish I could be more help.

Yeah I think the culprit is my crappy router.

Already checked the attached devices and it's not listed but I know for a fact I was connected the other night as I was editing the advancemame.rc file (for whatever reason device sound went back to auto from sdl)

All good, I'll keep mucking around with it and report back if I resolve the issue.
