Hi, novice learning Arpicade. I have flashed and set up Arpicade 3.X onto my RPI-3B to set up for Vert Arcade use.
I have 2 questions.
Is there a reason MAME 220 is not included and is it easy to get it added? A friend has linked me to a WolfsBane 220 RomSet which reportedly has a 100% game success work rate.
Second Question - i have found the document which states the best rom for each game. I note that a lot say to use ADVMAME. From my understanding, you put the Game-Rom into the specific Mame Folder in the "Roms" Folder to direct it to be used to that specific Version of Mame. Many say to use ADVMAME.
Looking at the ROM Folder tho, there is no ADVMAME Folder. ( See 1.PNG attached for Folders available)
When i look at the "Launcher" folder however, i can see ADVMAME is stated. So how would i direct arpicade to play they game the game through ADVMAME? ( see attached 2.png)
Also, is there a ROMSET ppl suggest works best for 3.X?

Re: ARpiCADE Novice - ADVMAME
advmame is mame106, the highest version of mame on your arpicade version is unfortunately 203. no way to upgrade I believe. Dee2er is the creator of software and may respond at one point..
Re: ARpiCADE Novice - ADVMAME
sorry, been down with a bad back.
As @cool_factor said AdvMAME is MAME 0.106 romset.
MAME 0.172 is generally the recomended MAME for Pi3, although a lot of stuff needs to be run in AdvMAME or other easier to run emulators. Unfortunately on a Pi3 you will have to use multiple versions of MAME to get the most out of it. It's unlikely to be worthwhile updating to newer MAME versions for Pi3, but they run good on the newer Pis. The 0.220 set you mentioned was likely checked on something more powerful than a Pi3 and is very unlikely to be drop into a Pi3 friendly.
If you want to convert the roms you have there are some programs that can help convert/test MAME sets for different MAME versions (Romcenter, CLRMAMEpro etc), there are some datfiles in the USER_GUIDE folder to assist - although if you're after full sets it's probably easier to just download them as you would have to find missing bits and pieces to convert a full set.
