The real question is did it boot afterward or was it still borked?cool_factor wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 4:31 amHeres the log when trying to let paragon fix it (appologize in advance if its useless info):
*much info*

It tried... Before it would do nothing, just full speed fan and black screen. This time after letting Paragon do its thing it attempted to boot. I got the ARpiCADE splash logo then it went to a prompt. It was very hard to read. It looked like it said dev/firmware/run.sh and some other type couldnt make out. Prompt would only let me reboot, nothing else.
After that I decided to check/verify my 3.x and 4.3 with Paragon, reported zero problems with both sd cards. Ive taken them both out multiple times from my cabs.

Hmmm... it's been years for me... can't remember myself. That said... it's worth a test...
My Pi5's SD card carriage is getting quite the workout.
I also just ordered two 64GB Amazon Basics sd memory cards. Amazingly, they came out on top as far as speed is concerned with the Pi5 according to a couple reviews I checked out. $18.00 for two 64GB cards ... delivered... overnight. I'll take it.

on the most recent screen shot of paragon @cool_factor has posted there's a check box for not mounting the volume automatically. It may be worth trying that with the Pi5 build to see if it stops the problem, if the drive is mounted automatically and you don't realise it's mounted to unmount it prior to pulling it could cause problems (maybe not this problem, I don't know).

I can try but I am exceptionally careful to UNMOUNT... that said, the image I sent you actually was never MOUNTED. I simply inserted it in my Win 11 box... viewed a couple folders... then safely removed. I never even mounted the linux side.dee2eR wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 2:05 pmon the most recent screen shot of paragon @cool_factor has posted there's a check box for not mounting the volume automatically. That's what I'm getting at. If it is automounted but not obvious...

I do not have auto-mount set. I have to manually mount... then manually unmount. I mean, I can TRY to auto-mount... I mean, not everything seems to make sense when it comes to computers at times.

Re: ARpiCADE_5 - for Pi4 or Pi5
I found a post online that in hindsight I wish I would have bookmarked when I made that OP. It stated that Paragon v5 was corrupting Linux partitions mounted or not. Supposedly v6 and forward fixes this. There is a v7 out as stated above. May be worth a try... I was going to but got side tracked.cool_factor wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 4:30 amI found a ver 5 build that I hadnt reformatted yet. Im running paragon version 5 (theres apparently a vers 7 now). Black screen, wont boot at cabinet. Bring back to PC and leave unmounted and use verify function of paragon and get this. May or may not help but I figured Id post it.

Re: ARpiCADE_5 - for Pi4 or Pi5
I see on .172 launcher where it actually drops to that MAME172 folder...
## launch game from emulator folder
cd /home/pi/mame172
./mamearcade $1 $aconfig $ror
...unfortunately the .251 launcher has this:
# launch
mame $1 $aconfig $ror
I have zero clue as to where that mame is... or where the supporting folders are for it.

MAME 251 use /home/pi/.mame/ and 269 /home/pi/.mame269/
