Changes to config files not saving on ArPiCADE volume

Post by Kevin_S » Mon Dec 21, 2020 12:23 am

Hi all,

Running a fresh copy of version 3.X with the suggested updates as posted in the first post of the release thread.

I'm trying to make changes to files on the ArPiCADE volume in my PC (using Linux File Systems by Paragon) and they appear to save to the card, but when I load it into the Pi and run it, nothing changes. I notice when I put it back into the PC the files are back to what they originally were, even though the time/date of the files I saved appeared to confirm the changes were written to the volume.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I'm not especially familar with the way Paragon works but are you safely ejecting/removing the SD card in software before taking it out of the PC? It may be the card hasn't been finalised when you remove it and that's why the changes don't appear on it...

Hopefully someone more familar with Paragon can chime in.

deeZer, thanks for the prompt reply. I do eject the card safely via File Explorer each time; it's baffling.

Although it's inconvenient, I'm just going to try editing the ArPiCADE volume files via the built-in file browser accessible in the Service menu. I think I'll stick with 3.X then for a while so I don't have to go through this again!
